Artist Residency in Greece: Harmony with Nature
How beneficial is a creative break? Spending 3 weeks on a Greek island with freedom from domestic concerns and a dedicated art studio space in which to paint whatever I wanted, I found I was able to replenish both spirit and creative soul. Read my blog post review about my time at the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts in Greece.
Why I use a sketch book (video)
The contents of a sketchbook are as personal and unique as its owner. As an abstract painter, I use my sketchbook to record ideas and work out compositions and colour combinations in pastels and graphite. Making preparatory drawings on a small scale can be a good way to test out which ideas might translate to a larger scale - but not all make it to becoming a painting on canvas.
Meditation Art Prints: a little piece of zen
Trudy’s Meditation paintings are now available as limited edition prints. In calming tranquil tones, they look great hung alone or in groups to create an ambience of contemplation and reflection. Perfect for creating your den of zen!
I believe that everyone is creative -even those of us who think we’re not. It’s not hard to access our creativity, but it is work. Since leaving corporate America to become an artist, I have embarked upon a journey of self-discovery, encountering frustration, challenges, fulfilment and joy. Discovering my inner artist and a desire to express herself in colour and paint was a radical turning point -one that has led me to shine a light on the path for others.
