Be The Light
Be The Light is a large abstract oil painting on canvas in vibrant orange, coral and red and yellow which captures the light and space of California, where this painting was made. I was exploring the use of intense colour pigment and ability to 'hold' the light without being overpowered by bright sunshine.
As part of the Union series, Be The Light features a wide angle U or V holds the composition and refers to the Feminine womb space while a vertical references the masculine principle, all held within a ‘landscape’ as referenced by the horizontal in complementary blue-green.
Group with other paintings in the Union series to make a big impact on large wall: Tinseltown, Rhapsody, Be The Light and Not Hardly, as shown exhibited at Melissa Morgan Fine Art in Palm Desert, CA.
