San Francisco Bay
San Francisco was my home for nearly 10 years. One of my favourite things to do at the weekend was to go sailing on the Bay with friends. This painting captures the feeling of viewing the headland and city from the water. Note the rust-coloured reference to the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and the clouds of thick white fog which can descend very quickly - even in high Summer.
