Sat Chit Ananda
This large abstract painting is the result of different threads weaving together: my pilgrimages to India and the meditation paintings that followed; and my interest in the healing frequencies of colour which began with a visceral experience of the emotional impact of colourfield painting (notably the work of Mark Rothko) at Tate Britain some 20 years ago.
I now use the healing frequencies of colour consciously and intuitively in my paintings. Sat Chit Ananda is predominantly orange to stimulate the sacral centre (in the the womb/stomach area), which is the seat of our creativity. The green of the circle calls for rebalancing of the heart chakra (in fact all shades of green are excellent for forgiveness of self and others).
The circle is a sacred symbol that represents wholeness, unity, the cyclical nature of life and the infinite nature of life with no beginning and no end. It is also one of the most stable building blocks in the universe and is the foundation shape in sacred geometry (note the Flower Of Life is made entirely from circles).
Sat Chit Ananda means Existence, Consciousness, Bliss and is dedicated to the universal creative intelligence that guides and connects us all.
